ongoing project (London, 2010/11)

Since my first walks in the city I`ve noticed that fried chicken restaurants are not only part of the city landscape, but are also part of the habits of most people who inhabit it. Those restaurants are found everywhere and are probably the cheapest food found in London.

Some restaurants are concerned about the religion of their costumers by serving halal meat wich is a method of "slaughtering animals that consists of a swift, deep incision with a sharp knife on the neck, cutting the jugular veins and carotid arteries of both sides but leaving the spinal cord intact" (Wikipedia).

All the logos I`ve seen are based in the image of a chicken. Some logos represent chickens with human features while others are just stylized images. The idea of isolating the logos from it`s contexts and the whithdrawall of words and other simbols that could identify the brands is an attempt to suggest a deconstruction of the whole process of creation and insertion of the logos in the facades of the restaurants.
